@}->-->---FRIENDSHIP---<--<-{@ by Mary Ellen Austen First and always to the day we die,
a friend is the one who will make certain
we have no lipstick on our teeth. Remember the hours spent on the phone, each having a turn sharing and caring. Interesting enough, there was and is always time to share and listen. Envy is never present~ ~just enthusiasm and encouragement.~ Nor can we ever forget the dark moments of Despair~the broken heart and spirit that.... Somehow we were able to mend, together. Happily for us lucky ones.... In this lifetime we are blessed with.... Perfect Friendships!
Blessed are they who have the gift of making Friends, for it is one of God's best gifts. It involves many things, but above all, the power of going out of one's self, and Appreciating whatever is noble and loving in another. ~~Thomas Hughes~~
THERE'S A SPECIAL KIND OF FREEDOM FRIENDS ENJOY.
FREEDOM TO SHARE INNERMOST THOUGHTS,
TO ASK A FAVOR,
TO SHOW THEIR TRUE FEELINGS,
THE FREEDOM TO SIMPLY BE THEMSELVES.
---<---<-->@<-->--->---
~~~~~~~~~THE WAY TO HAPPINESS~~~~~~~~~ Keep your Heart free from hate, your mind from worry... Live simply, expect little... GIVE MUCH~~~
The Whale
This appeared on the web, and I'd like to think it's true that the Whale acknowledged each diver that helped her. So often we find out that stories are fabricated or embellished upon, but I logged the account, and present it here for you...as time permits, I will contact the SF Chronicle and check further.
Meantime....give this possibility a thought!
If you read the front page story of the SF Chronicle, you would have
read about a female humpback whale who had become entangled in a spider web
of crab traps and lines. She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds
of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat.
She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body,
her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth. A fisherman spotted her
just east of the Farralone Islands (outside the Golden Gate)
and radioed an environmental group for help. Within a few hours,
the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off,
the
only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her ...
a
very dangerous proposition.
One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.
They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her.
When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles.
She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, and nudged them,
pushed gently around-she thanked them. Some said
it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.
The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye
was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.
May you, and all
those you love,
be so blessed and fortunate .
to be surrounded by people
who will help you get untangled
from the things that are binding you.
And, may you always know the joy
of giving and receiving gratitude.
I pass this on to you, my
friend, in the same spirit.
(a debt of gratitude to LuAnne for sharing this.)
