Cruisin' The High Seas

Royal Carribean Tour

~Today is Son Frank's Birthday; Blessed IS~

I made my first ship to shore phone call after finding no signal from our Ship, nor from Labadee, Haiti.  After dinner I called from the stateroom phone; twice!  Because there was such a long silence I thought I was supposed to push "Ship to Shore" again...as I did that, the connection hung up, while I thought I heard Frank's voice.  Whoooboy; ain't easy being a greenhorn.  The Learning Curve is always a nemesis for me.  OK, now I have more under my belt!

Here she is, Mon ~ but don't expect her to look like that for long; Ole Royal Carrib is diggin' and a-constructin'..."Progress" has hit Haiti!

International dollars are reaching the beautiful Island; but I doubt the People are getting any of it.

Some tourists wait to be freed to go home...while others are glad to be accepted in.

For me, it was another sort of Disneyland...we were allowed to see a limited area; the beautiful ocean is full of rocks and broken Coral that smacks up against legs and feet; walking out into it is rather treacherous, and my T'ai Chi skills were very helpful, as I crouched, and caught myself from falling as the waves hit me and tossed the rocks...and me...around.  I am not in favor of what will likely happen next...will they start dredging and removing all the natural rocks and coral to please the tourists?  They have implanted the coral and shells into the walkways, as it is...it is somewhat charming; but what has broken all that coral away from it's home?

These guys gave us a lovely welcome...and I'm so sorry I didn't buy their CD and another group's

Labadee...Labadee...She blessed me as I felt the Joy and Privilege of her Acceptance.  What can those small fruits be ?

Many thanks, Haiti, for your beauty ~ for the privilege and joy of swimming in your waters...it was here that I used my T'ai Chi skills to get out into the water and back again to shore.  The many rocks and huge chunks of coral were treacherous, and the strong waves knocked them up against legs and feet.  Oh, how healing and gracious the water itself...while the warning is plain; take this Ocean seriously!

Great Pictures and info about Labadee

Frank and I started our marriage out on Puerto Rico...here we are on the same meridian...only Dominican Republic left to complete explorations of that area...though I wouldn't say the explorations have truly begun...I've had a taste.  I would need to hang around and venture into the land, and seek out elders and other people to talk to...so much magic exists in this place; I know...I would have loved to speak to some Medicine People, some Shamans.  I do believe I have at least one Facebook friend from Haiti...it would have been nice to meet and have a guide.

It's obvious the Maestro Cicio Camino and Maestro Junior were not called in on this project!   These are samples of the Walkways with Coral and Volcanic Rocks embedded.  It's tres rustico ~~ sans the finish the Maestros would apply!
